Phil graduated from Bingham High School in 1978 and served a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Wisconsin from 1979-1981.

Phil was a friendly, fun-loving, kind and generous man that was loved by his family, friends and colleagues. He was always willing and eager to help others and easily became friends with anyone he would meet.

Phil is survived by his children: Erin Diana Black and Whitney Danielle Black of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by his stepfather Richard Truman Huffman of Riverton and his siblings: Mike Black, Rick Huffman, Ryan Huffman, Reggie Huffman, Brenda Sorensen, Lonnie Huffman and Alison Gledhill.

Phil was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Barefoot Huffman, his father, Dan Atkin Black and siblings: Mike Huffman, Sabrina Webster and Ronnie Huffman.

Phil loved nature, sports, and the great outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and camping. He was an avid collector, a die hard Green Bay Packers fan and a true American patriot. Phil was extremely proud and supportive of the armed forces and cherished the American beliefs and ideals upon which our country was founded.

Phil’s cheerful smile, sunny disposition and warm personality will truly be missed; his caring and thoughtful nature remembered forever. May his weary soul find eternal peace and rest.”
