Our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Richard Medina passed away on February 14, 2024, surrounded by his family at the age of 78 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on October 24, 1945, to Alex and Ruby Medina in Durango, Colorado. Married Laura Sanchez on June 26, 1965, in Salt Lake City Utah. He was drafted in United States Army in 1964 where he became SGT. Medina. He served for 2 years.

He loved camping, fishing, hunting and especially, watching his sons and grandsons play sports. He didn’t miss a game! Richard excelled at anything he put his mind to. Fixing cars and remodeling homes.  Later in life he educated himself to become tech savvy with computers.  Building and fixing the family’s home computers!

Dad had two special women in his life that he loved and cared for. His daughter, Natalie Medina and granddaughter Goonie Medina. And in return, Nat and Goonie took such amazing care of grandpa when he became ill for many years until our sweet Natalie passed away 2021. That is when our Goonie Medina stepped in to take care of grandpa. She put her life on pause and took care of the man who helped raise her. We will always be grateful for her love and dedication to dad.
