Jerry Draper

July 7, 1953 - April 1, 2024

Remembering Jerry means cherishing the love he had for his family and friends. Those closest to him will always hold dear his fun-loving nature and the laughter he brought to their lives. His passion for detailing his cars, particularly his beloved corvettes, was a testament to his vibrant personality. He shared this passion with others through his participation in numerous car shows.
He was also proud of his trucks over the years and always ensured they looked pristine. His truck was the prettiest (he’d describe it differently), tallest, shiniest, cleanest, and best-looking truck in the neighborhood. Everyone knew when “JD” drove by.
Jerry loved, protected, and enjoyed caring for his wife of 43 years and daughter Brittanie. He co-created a very tight and loving family. Jerry enjoyed camping, concerts, and trips with family and friends. He loved Rock and Roll and playing the guitar. The Beatles were always his #1. He could give anyone a run for their money with random trivia, especially his daughter.
Jerry had a tremendous work ethic. Even in retirement, he was always on the go, on time, and stayed busy. We are so appreciative of the many memories we had with Jerry. He will be deeply missed.
On behalf of the Draper Family, we want to send a special “Thank U” to everyone who treated Jerry at the University of Utah Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The CICU gave Jerry the utmost care, love, respect, and dignity. Thank you for giving us that time and sacred and cherished space with him. We will be forever grateful.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Q Draper, mother, Blanche Yvonne Draper, brother, Perry Que Draper, and brother-in-law, Wayne Crosby. Surviving family members include Jerry’s devoted wife, Gail Draper, loving daughter, Brittanie Draper, sister, Sheila Draper Crosby, and many nieces and nephews he loved.
