Isaiah Martinez

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, Isaiah, 77 passed away on August 17, 2012. Isaiah was born in Lebanon, Colorado on April 23, 1935 to Manuel and Mary Martinez. He later moved with family to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Isaiah graduated from West High School. He worked as a cement finisher for many years. He enjoyed tennis, golf and watching his son Matthew compete in high school football, track & field and wrestling at Cottonwood High School. Isaiah became Matthew's biggest fan when Matt played football for the University of Utah.

Isaiah is preceded in death by his mother and father, and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by two sisters and son, Matthew.

Isaiah's sharp sense of humor and kind gentleness were greatly admired by his two best friends, Barb and John Herndon, and dozens of other friends who were touched by his life. Isaiah's family wishes to acknowledge and thank all of Isaiah's friends and neighbors at Coventry Assisted Living.

Special appreciation and thanks to Dr. Jamie Brandt, Natalie Ravarino, RN, (Isaiah's hospice nurse), and Richard Vinson, health care professionals with Haven Home Health. Also special thanks to Whitney Clark and Ginger Steensma, RN with Coventry Assisted Living.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 Creek Road, Sandy, Utah 84093.
