On October 7, 2013, our dear Paul took the final step in his journey home to his rest.

Paul was born on May 4,1936 in Auburn, Illinois to Voltaire and Noella (Coet) Criquelion. He spent his childhood in the coal mining camps of the Colorado Rockies and the dusty Red Desert area of Wyoming surrounded by the natural world he loved. Paul graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City Utah and served in the Utah National Guard. In 1962, Paul married Christina VanderWaal at First Methodist Church in Salt Lake City, Utah. Paul and Christina were married for 51 years. Paul worked in the trucking industry and was a member of the Teamster's Union for over 20 years.

Paul is survived by his wife, Christina VanderWaal Criquelion, his children, Paula (Troy) Rigby, Michael (Kevin Lindsay) Criquelion, Patsi (Leatus) Smith, Jan Criquelion,10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and his sisters, Rose (Butch) VanBuskirk, Dori (Jerry) Lockhart; all of whom loved his compassion for others and his infectious laughter.

Paul is preceded in death by his Father, Voltaire; Mother, Noella; and brother, Marceau.

In the spirit of compassion that Paul embraced during his lifetime, the family suggests a donation to First United Methodist Church, Salt Lake City, Utah or to the Utah Food Bank in lieu of flowers.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 12th at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 203 South 200 East, Salt Lake City.
