Very sad to hear that Derrick has been taken from you. I only found this out, BELEIVE it out not by just googling his name. Wondering how you guys were doing and if he retired and ever made the move. Haven't spoken to you guys in years and I was telling him about Derrick's birthday trip to wendover you planned for him. So that triggered me to make a search for Derrick Goodwin police officer Utah. It was never the search result I expected to find. I am so sorry for your incredible loss. I hope you are doing well or atleast better day by day I guess... Trena, We have so many memories with you guys, his smile his laughter was so contagious. He really was a one of a kind. He truly loved you. Sending our prayers and love to you.

Trina, have not seen you guys since Derrick retired. I love that you guys moved to central Utah to slow things down. Reading your extended obit was beautiful. My wife and I read it together. I have already put Derrick and your family in my prayer petition book. It sounds like you have a beautiful extended family all over Utah. We are so, so sorry, that your family, and the world has lost such an amazing person. My memories of Derrick and you are nothing but positive. His legacy lives on in all those that he touched, and there were many.

Our hearts breaks for you and your family Trena. Derrick always treated me with respect and love from the first day we met. We will miss him dearly. We love you and hope to see you soon.
