Michael R. Ellerbeck

January 28, 1954 - November 13, 2018

Michael Richard Ellerbeck passed away on November 13, 2018 after a long fight with cancer.
Mike was born on January 28, 1954 to Thomas Richard Ellerbeck and Beverly Ann Bever. He grew up in Olympus Cove with his two brothers, Ken and Scott. He graduated from Skyline High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Utah. Mike’s life-long career at Salt Lake Monument began in 1974. He loved to duck hunt, watch baseball games (all ages, all levels!), attend concerts, visit the cabin, and play his favorite 60’s and 70’s rock on his numerous guitars. He enjoyed playing music with the Brown Dog Band, with neighbors, in spontaneous jams, and by himself. He cared for the environment and his fellow man and contributed to many causes. He loved his family and looked forward to family gatherings with his children, their spouses, and grandchildren.
Mike leaves behind his wife, Angela Wood, his children and their spouses, Alisha and Justin Daniels, Bryon and Shazell Ellerbeck, TJ Ellerbeck and Stephanie Pearce, and Mica Ellerbeck; his grandchildren Olive and Opal Daniels, and Ender Ellerbeck; his brother and his spouse, Scott and Debby Ellerbeck; and his former wife and long-time business partner, Connie Jackson Ellerbeck. He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Bev, his brother Ken, and John Lennon and George Harrison.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Starks Funeral Parlor on Friday November 30, from 6:00 to 8:00pm located at 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday December 1, at the LDS Meetinghouse located at 4th Avenue and P Street in Salt Lake City.
